There Are No Failures Just Repeated Opportunities

There are no failures except for the failure to try.

I was listening to an interview that Simon Chan was conducting with a lady named Kelli, who is a very successful network marketer. I don't remember her last name, but I remember that it was long!

She said, "There are no failures, just repeated opportunities." I thought that was pretty profound.

There Are No Failures Except For the Failure to Try

https://youtu.be/ro4eldfwWJY

As we go through life, sometimes we try to do different things, but sometimes we don't do things and sometimes we don't even make the attempt to try! In other words, our failure is the failure to try.

We don't give ourselves a chance to see if we can be successful. We just don't even attempt it because we don't want to fail.

Some things we persue for just a bit longer and we do get a bit better, but then that fear comes back to haunt us and we quit trying again. We feel like we have failed.

Once in a while, we will latch on to something that we follow through with and we are able to fight through the failures. We succeed and we become very good at it.

How Can Failure Lead to Success?

One good example is learning how to ride a bicylce. If you stop trying to learn how to ride a bike the first time you fall or crash, you will never be able to ride a bike.

Learning how to play a musical instrument is another great example. When you first start learning how to play, you are going to make a lot of mistakes, and it is going to sound bad!

When I was young, I started learning how to play a saxaphone. And it sounded horrible! There is nothing that sounds worse than a saxaphone played badly unless it is the bagpipes played badly!

I played for a couple of years, and I never did get very good at it, but I did get better than when I had started.

Later in life, I decided that I wanted to learn how to play a guitar. When you are first learning how to play a guitar, the first few months your fingers are going to get a little sore.

So you not only have the fear of failing when you start learning but you also have some actual physical discomfort while learning. IF you perserve and push through the rough times, you will eventually learn to play the guitar.

That is the thing about failure. If you fear failure, it will keep you from attempting to do many things that you could succeed at if you will just push through the fear of failure. Without failure there is no success.

The second part of her quote was about repeated opportunities. There are no failures, there are only repeated opportunities. If you look at it from that perspective, after every failure there is an opportunity to try again. A repeated opportunity.

As long as you are doing those repeated opportunities, you really haven't failed, because you are not done yet. You only fail when you stop and you haven't accomplished anything.

Failure is not being unable to accomplish something, failure is when you stop trying. As long as you are trying, you can improve. You don't have to be great, you just need to get better.

That's my little thought I gained while doing my studying, and I am passing it along to you.

First Thing To Do As a Network Marketer

The First Thing To Do As a New Network Marketer

The first thing to do is a question that most new network marketers have as they start their new business. My answer is going to be somewhat different from what you would might expect and perhaps somewhat controversial because it is probably not the answer your sponser is going to give you.

Most sponsors are going to give you one of several answers. They are going to tell you that the first thing that you should do is to make a list of your family and friends and talk to them about your new business. They will tell you to start with your warm market. Other sponsors will tell you NOT to start with your friends and family but to begin advertisng to reach a cold market, or people that you do not currently know.

The First Thing To Do Before You Do Anything Else

My answer is different, but remember that it is only my opinion as to what is the first thing to do. You will want to talk to your sponsor about the first thing that you should do as I don't want to get you in trouble with your sponsor. But please consider what I am suggesting.

One of the things that you will get when you start your network marketing business is a sales kit. It could be an actual physical kit, or it might be a download from the internet or it might even be a website. But one of the things in that kit will be a section that might be called "Rules and Regulations," or it might be called "Policies and Procedures," or it might be called "Terms of Compliance," or something similiar.

I suggest that the first thing to do is for you to find that section and read it first before you do ANYTHING about finding customers or business partners. It will tell you what you can and what you CANNOT do or say with your network marketing business as far as products or the business opportunity is concerned.

If you read those policies and follow them, you can save yourself and your company a lot of trouble.

Your first reaction may very well be "Well, this is my own business, and I can do what I want!" Yes, it is your business, but it is your business in much the same way that a McDonalds owner owns his own business. You may own the business, but there will be policies and restrictions just like the ones that the franchise owner will place on you in order to protect the franchise.

It is the same way with network marketing. Most companies are going to have rules and regulations that you will need to comply with. That may seem restrictive, and some of the terms of compliance ARE very restrictive, but there are reasons that they are so restrictive.

Those policies are there to keep the network marketing companies out of trouble with the regulatory agencies and also to keep YOU out of trouble.

All too frequently we see network marketers online that are making claims about their products or their income that they really shouldn't be making. For example, you can't claim that your product is going to cure any kind of disease or that it can even be used as a treatment for a disease. You can't claim that your product will solve your skin problems or your digestive problems.

Unless your product has been approved by the FDA for the condition that you are treating, you cannot make that claim. If the regulatory agencies find that those claims are common in your company, they can and will penalize or even shut down your company. And that is why your company has a strict compliance policy to protect them and you from lawsuits or punitive actions.

There are also compliance rules concerning income claims. I often see network marketers saying that they have made thousands of dollars from their network marketing business. They really shouldn't be saying that, either. The FTC or other agencies will want an official company document specifiying what the average income is for a distributor, and that document needs to be provided to every prospect that you are trying to enroll.

Those averages don't look very impressive, because they are averages from all distributors, whether they make money or not. But we are still required to present that official document to anyone that is taking a look at the business.

By the way, if your upline doesn’t have a proven system for you to generate 20+ qualified leads per day online, check out this FREE Video – Click HERE

The product and income claims are something that we as network marketers need to police. It is up to us as professional network marketers to help keep our companies out of trouble, because we can cause our companies a LOT of trouble by the product and income claims that we make.

So my recommendation for the first thing to do is that you go and find the terms of compliance for your company and read them. Follow them! Keep you and your company from making negative headlines in the news media. Find out what you can and what you can't say, because the regulatory agencies can and will take actions against companies that are saying and doing things outside of what is permitted.

Once you are familiar with your particular terms of compliance, go out and market and promote your company in all the ethical and legal ways that you can! Make it a great industry!

Helping Other People Get What They Want

I have learned that helping other people get what they want enables us to get more of what we want.
Recently I have been studying a little bit of training by Ray Higdon, and if you don't know who Ray Higdon is, he is one of the top online marketers on the internet today.

Helping Other People

He taught me that as we are doing our personal study and learning, when we find something that we get value from, we should turn around and teach what we learned to other people. As a result, we not only learn it better, but we can also benefit and help others. I got value from what I learned today in my study and I want to share it with you.
Recently, while reading an issue of Networking Times, I ran across an interview with a network marketer by the name of Lance Conrad. Here is what Lance had to say:
"We really want to turn network marketing around, from the old get-in now, get-rich-quick approach, which is all about posturing and pressure and fear-of-loss marketing, to what we call pull marketing, which is about making a difference in people's lives. Guess what? The money will come if you provide the service and put people first."
I think we can all agree that if we do more helping other people get what they want, then we will get more of what we want. If we as network markets, during the process of talking to people, find out what they want and help them to get it, we will be more successful. Whether that be more money or more time freedom, a couple hundred dollars more a month or a six-figure income, all of that is available through network marketing. We just need to share what we know about how to get that.
Yes, the money and products are important, but the main thing about network marketing is just helping people and giving value to as many people as possible. If we can do that through our network marketing business, then I think we will be successful.
So that is what I learned. And as Ray Higdon says, if we learn something of value, we should pass it around and share it. If you find this video to be of value to you, please share it with others and give me a comment below.
If we can do more helping people get what they want, we can get more of what we want.

Finding Content the Ray Higdon Way

Finding content for a blog or video is a big hurdle for some people thinking about starting a blog or creating a video. Video or blogging is a great way to get leads, but finding blog content ideas on a consistent basis is important.

I just watched a video that Ray Higdon created about how to find blog content. If you don't know who Ray Higdon is, he is one of the top online marketers out there, and he provides training for those who would like to learn how to market online.

Finding Content With Two Simple Method

I just want to share a couple of things that the Higdon training pointed out.

First he talked about was how finding blog content is much simpler than people believe. Many people think that they would run out of ideas so quickly that it would make blogging or making videos impossible. He gives a list of at least ten places where you can find something to blog about.

For example, for network marketers, you can look up network marketing forums on the internet and you WILL find a bunch! In all those forums there will be people asking questions and asking for advice on all kinds of network marketing topics. I looked at just one forum and within 20 seconds, I found these two topics: "How do I find a good sponser" and "Should I lead with the product or opportunity."

Right there are two topics about which you could easily make a blog post or video. If you can help someone answer those questions, you have just created value for someone and that value can be converted into compensation for you.

By the way, if you would like to check out Ray Higdon training on how to create a blog, this link will take you to his training:

One of the other things that he talked about was the need to take notes when you are viewing training materials. If you really want to learn, you should be taking notes whenever you are viewing training materials. Those notes and the things that you learn are potential money makers, and you want to capture them so that you can use them at a future time. They are potential blog content!

After you have learned something, either from the training or directly from your notes, you turn around and teach what you have learned. The easiest way to teach is either through a video that you create or through a blog post. You will be able to give value to numerous people. And when you give value to people, you can find ways to monetize your value.

That is how Ray Higdon does it!

These are just two of the tips that I got from Ray's video. He has much more training that is available for anyone wanting to enhance their online marketing. In fact, the Higdon training is comprehensive for all kinds of marketing.

Here is the link for that training: rogercox.ultimatedblogbundle.com

Using Facebook For Marketing

Facebook marketers dream of using Facebook for business, but they would like to do it in such a manner that they are not spamming or taking the risk that they will be thrown into "FaceBook Jail."
As a Facebook marketer, you want to get as much exposure as you can. A private person may not want the world to know him; but as a business person, the more people that know you and your brand, the bigger your business will be.

Using Facebook for Business Tip for Promoting Products

You want people to know who you are and what you look like. You want to be the face of your product or industry. For example, if you market a weight-loss product, whenever your friends or contacts are talking about weight loss, you want YOUR name and face to come to their minds.

If you are using Facebook for business, you will want as many "likes, friends, and followers as you can get. When you write a post for Facebook, Facebook will serve your posts to only a small portion of your Facebook fans. Very few of your friends will actually see your post. Facebook has metrics that determine who gets to see what, unless you are paying for an ad. To get a large amount of the free exposure, you need a large base of Facebook fans.
One way to grow the size of your Facebook market is to find Facebook groups that are related to your product. You can do a search in the search bar in FaceBook to find those groups. For example, suppose you sell homemade lawn ornaments. You would do a Facebook search for lawn ornaments and request to join those groups.
Begin following those groups and notice the people who are commenting in those groups and notice what topics they are talking about. Contribute your own comments and valuable content as the opportunity presents itself.
But, DO NOT try to sell your product in those groups! You will come across as spamming the group, and the group members will just ignore your posts because they will consider you to be a spammer. Even worse, the administrators of that group will delete your posts, and you could even be banned from the group.
By the way, if you are interested in more ways to use Facebook for business, you will be interested in this offer!
Developing relationships with the group members is a much more friendly and productive method to use Facebook as a marketing tool. Offer meaningful comments in the public forums, and even go to the individual personal Facebook pages of some of the group members and get to know them. If you have the option, send them a personal message.
Most of the time those personal messages will go into a hidden "other inbox" unless you have been accepted as a friend. But you can still develop a friendship through the public comments in the group. When the time is right, then request to be a Facebook friend.
Once you are friends, you can talk about all kinds of topics on either your personal pages or through private message. You can even then talk about your homemade lawn ornaments and send pictures! Just don't talk about them on the group's page as that could get you in trouble.
Your goal is to become known as the "go to" guy or expert for your niche. If you are the lawn ornament expert, you want your new fans to think of you whenever they think about lawn ornaments or see lawn ornaments in the Home Depot store.
So that is my free FaceBook tip! If you hunger for more about using Facebook for business, be sure to check out my offers below and on the side of this post. You can also see more on my Facebook Page
Until next time!

The Lottery Ticket Mentality

Today I would like to spend just a couple of minutes talking about the lottery ticket thinking that we find quite often in our profession of network marketing. Many people call it the lottery mentality.

The lottery ticket mentality is what makes people buy a lottery ticket for a few dollars with the hope that they are going to be winning the lottery and receive a lot of money in return for the few dollars they "invested."

It also applies to other areas of our life wherever we expect to get a lot for the small amount we give, whether it be time or money.

Often times we see the lottery thinking in network marketing as well. Too many times we network marketers, in trying to convince our potential clients that they should join us, tell them that it is so easy that anyone can do it. We tell them that the product is so good that it sells itself, and all they need to do is to get just a few people to buy it; or in the case of the opportunity, that they just need two or three people to join them. Sometimes we even promise that we will do the work for them.

The potential recruit then has a destructive thought planted into his mind. He is thinking about two or three people that he knows that would be "just perfect" for this opportunity. So he joins thinking that those two people are going to make him wealthy. That is the lottery method.

And then what happens when those people don't make him rich? If the new network marketer was counting on those people, and they tell him "NO," he will probably just quit, or at least not do anything to make his business work.

Network marketing is NOT a lottery. It is real work. And it is hard. Network marketing is simple, it is not complicated, but it IS hard. You have to put in some work and take a lot of action. Your success is up to you, not up to your upline or your downline.

Fortunately there is a lot of training available if you do decide to really work at your business and to not treat it like the lottery ticket method. You can actually learn how to attract people to your business so that you don't have to chase them down and try to get them to be interested in what you have to offer.

You can actually attract people who ALREADY are interested in what you have. Then you just have to show them what you have and then let them make the decision as to whether to join you or not.

That is what I do....I teach people how to attract interested people to them without promising them the moon and without promising that I will do all the work for them.

Let's get rid of the lottery ticket mentality in our network marketing profession!

Don't Compare Yourself to Others

Do you find that you are comparing yourself to other network marketers, either in your own company or in other network marketing companies? Many marketers feel that other marketers are their competition.

Should I Quit? No! Don't Even Think About It!

Has the thought "Should I quit?" ever entered your mind? If you have been a network marketer for any length of time, I can almost guarantee that you have thought about giving up and quitting at one time or another.
