Will You Succeed If You Try Long Enough?

"Will you succeed" is a question that a lot of network marketers ask themselves.

I had an experience today that caused me to think more about that question. Often times that question is stated a little differently.

Today I was out running errands in my car, and I had full intentions in coming back to my house and recording a video. I already had a topic in mind, and I was ready!

Will You Succeed In Network Marketing?

When I am driving around in my car, I am usually listening to podcasts. I have a bunch of podcasts from many top network marketers that are downloaded to my iPod; and when I am in my car, the iPod syncs with Bluetooth to my car's audio system.

I was listening to an interview that Simon Chan was doing with Cedric Penn.

A question was asked, and that question made all kinds of bells go off in my head. I got all excited because Simon and Cedric were talking about MY experience! This was my experience for a very long time.

In network marketing, we have always been taught that you never fail until you quit. You have heard that, right? Today that statement was phrased just a little different. Here was the question:

If you don't quit, will you succeed in network marketing? If you stay in network marketing long enough, will you eventually succeed?

If You Stay in Network Marketing Long Enough, Will You Succeed?

Maybe. Maybe.

There is a condition to that question.

If you stay the same as you were when you started network marketing, then you probably won't succeed at network marketing, no matter how long you are in network marketing.

To succeed in your network marketing business and to grow in network marketing, YOU NEED TO GROW!

You need to learn some new skills and put those skills into action. Self development and new skills are needed to take you from where you are to where you want to be. If you sit around and do the same things that you did when you started, you are only going to go so far.

Unless you are continually learning and continually building your skills and continually growing, then, yes, there is a possiblitiy that you won't succeed.

To determine if you will succeed depends on your actions.

Listen to podcasts, to webinars, watch YouTube Videos, subscribe to successful network marketers' website and newsletters, and learn from the people around you. Then you can succeed.

In my case, I have plugged into the systems that bring that information right to my computer. In the old days, we had to drive many miles to events to listen to top network marketing performers. The self-improvement books and tapes were expensive, as were the tools to build our business.

In today's world, that is all available right from our computer. And we don't even have to search all over the internet to get the information. There are prepackaged systems that will give you the tools AND the knowledge to be successful at building your business over the internet. And you can do it without spewing a bunch of hype and without spamming everybody.

Yes!! If you grow yourself, learn and develop, apply what you have learned.....then, yes!  If you stay in network marketing long enough, you will succeed!

What Your Prospect Really Wants to Know About Your Business

When your prospect asks you what you do or what is your business, how do you respond?

For many of us, we believe those questions give us the signal to go ahead and verbally dump on our prospect. The tendency is to tell them everything good we know about the company or product in hopes that something will resonate with him.

Often times we will talk about how smart our company founder is, or how our company is rated number 1 in the whole universe. Or we talk about the patents that our company has on its products.

What DOES Your Prospect Really Want To Know?

That is NOT what  your prospect was asking. He simple wanted to know what you do. If you owned a store, would you immediately talk about how many degrees in business administration you have? Probably not. But if you did, the person that asked the question would probably think that you are pretty weird!

But, unfortunately, many network marketers do just that when asked about their business.

Find Your Prospect Hot Button

In the video, I tell about two experiences that illustrate this. The first experience is about a well-known network marketer that was asked on the spot to convince a friend's friend that she should drink more water.

The network marketer could have talked about ALL the various reasons why a person should drink more water, but he didn't do that. He didn't have the time to go into a detailed presentation about drinking water.

Instead, he quickly made a judgement about what the friend's friend might be concerned about, and he just said "If you don't drink enough water, your body will retain what water it does have and you will get bloated."

Her eyes got real big, and she said "I do have a problem with bloating lately!! I DO need to start drinking more water!"

He found her "hot button" and she was ready to listen.

Your Prospect: My Own Personal Story

My own personal experience happened when I was giving a shuttle ride to a person from a car dealership to his home. I explained that I drive this shuttle van two days a week, and the other five days I work on my home business.

He then asked me what my business was. At that point, I could have launched into a full-scale presentation for my network marketing business. Instead I simply said that I marketed a product for people who have stiff and sore achy knees. I then said "If you know anybody with stiff and sore knees, I am the one they need to talk to." Then I shut up.

The first words out of his mouth were "I have sore and achy knees!"

I hit his hot button!

We talked a little bit about his knees, I found out how long he had been having bad knees, and I asked if exercise seemed to help or hurt his knees even more. I then told him that 80% of the people who have tried my product have liked it well enough that they have ordered more.

When I suggested that for the price of a month's supply of my product that he could know whether my product was going to help him or not, he was interested.

We set an appointment for the following night for me to call him. After a brief review of what we talked about the previous day, I took his order over the phone.

What Your Prospect DOESN'T Want to Know

Now here is the real message of this experience!

He never once asked me about the credentials of our company's founder. And he didn't ask how many patents our products have. He didn't even ask if this was network marketing!!

And get this:......as of this moment when I am writing this three days later.....he doesn't even KNOW THE NAME of the product he has purchased! He doesn't even know the name of the company that sells it.

All he wanted to know was if this product was going to help his sore and achy knees.

What Your Prospect DOES Want to Know

And isn't that really all your prospect wants to know? Doesn't your prospect just want to know if our product can solve his pain, whatever that might be?

If they like the product and become a customer, THEN it might be appropriate to talk about what makes this product so special. WHEN they have the interest, THEN they might be willing to hear about the advanced degrees that your company's founder might have. But not before!

Summary For What Your Prospect Wants to Know

In summary....sometimes network marketers come across as being very "salezy" and hypee because we spew all this stuff at our prospects when they are not the least bit interested.

We throw all the information that we can at them in hopes that one tidbit will stick and make them want to buy. It is far better to take a little time and try to figure out what your prospect wants, what he doesn't want, or what he is concerned about.

Then out of all the multitude of products that you might have, you can pick the one that will best stop his pain, or address his concern.

Talk to your prospect about what he needs. Talk to him about what he wants. Then exlain to him how your product will solve his problem.

Don't spam everybody, don't give them hype. Just find their need and offer to help them address it.

Network Marketing Recruiting Using Facebook ... 5 Steps to Success

Recruiting using Facebook is becoming a popular way to build your network marketing business. However, there are some things that you will want to be aware of. Here are five steps for recruiting using Facebook.

The First Step to Recruiting Using Facebook

The first step is to be connecting with people all the time. You are always looking for new people for your business. For the details about how to find people to connect to on Facebook, see this blog post about how to connect with new people on Facebook.

However when you connect or reconnect with people on Facebook, the ONE thing that you DO NOT want to do is to pitch your business or product during the first couple of conversastions with them.

Pitching your business in this manner is considered by most people to be spam. Do our industry a favor and don't spam. Instead, grow your business in a professional manner.

The Second Step to Recruiting Using Facebook

On the first interaction with your potential team mates, give them a compliment about something that you admire about them. Find something in common with them, and talk about those things.

Learn about them. You can ask something like this, "By the way, what do you do?" Then talk about their answers. Make the conversation about them. Talk to them like you would to a friend.

The Third Step to Recruiting Using Facebook

After you have started developing a relationship with your new friends, then....and only then.....should you introduce your business to them and then only under certain conditions. Don't spring it suddenly upon them. Lead up to it with some genuine questions. You want to find out if they even have a need for what you have to offer them.

If you don't uncover a need, don't progress any further with trying to get them into your network marketing business. Just continue to treat them as a friend and keep the door open to future opportunities to talk to them about business.

If you do find a need, then you can say something like this, "Would you be open to checking out something that might help you to solve your problem, if it would not interfer with what you are currently doing?"

But if they are NOT open to it, you cannot proceed onto step five.

If they are open to more information, then you can go ahead and send them your business opportunity link or a link to more information about what you have to offer.

The Fourth Step to Recruiting Using Facebook

The fourth step is to follow up. If you don't follow up, then you can't collect the decision. Ask them when would be a good time for you to follow up with them AFTER they have watched the video that you have sent them.

Remember that you HAVEN'T sent that link to them until they have indicated that they are open to receiving it. If you know that they are open to receiving your link, it makes it much easier for you to follow up with them. And you MUST follow up with them to get some sort of decision from them.

Make sure that they really want to watch the video before you sent it. Let them know that there will be no pressure from you after they have watched the video. But they do need to know that you will NOT send the video link unless they will watch it.

The Fifth Step to Recruiting Using Facebook

The fifth step is to close. If you have followed the steps, the close is very easy. You will not have sent the video unless they are open to it, and they will know that you will be following up. The close, or collecting the decision, becomes very easy.

Most people won't act unless you ask them to. So you can say something like, "Based on what you have seen, it appears that you are ready to get started." Or you can ask, "Are you in or are you out? If you are in, I can help you get started now. If you are out, I will know not to bug you about it anymore."

Sometimes they just need help to know that it really is a simple answer. They don't need to take a lot of time to make a decision. Are they in or are they out? It really is as simple as that.

Summary to Recruiting Using Facebook

First step is to connect with new people all the time.

Second step is to develop that relationship. NO links to your business or opportunity at this time. Not until you have established that there is a need for what you have.

Third step is to introduce your business or opportunity to your new friend by asking them if they are open to receiving a link or other tool.

Fourth step is to follow up.

Fifth step is to close. "Are you in or are you out?"

If the answer is yes, offer to work with them in getting started with their own business. If the answer is no, you stop bugging them about your business. But you do keep treating them as a friend, because sometimes their circumstances will change, and they will become more open to looking again at your offer.

Following these five steps to recruiting using Facebook will expand the number of people in your network, will give you a structured plan to move them towards being your team member, and will give you the path to collect a decision from them about joining you!

Single Mom With Kids? I Am Talking to You!

I am not a single mom with kids, so I can't pretend that I know all the struggles and trials that you are going through on a daily basis. But I do have some inkling of what you are going through.

I served a few years for my church congregation as an employment counselor. Many of the people that I worked with were single moms with kids just like you. Every one of you is different in that you have different trials, different challenges, and different circumstances.

Single Mom With Kids Challenges

I know about some of the challenges you have because you have told me about them!

But even though you all are different, you also have some things in common.

So let me talk for a little bit about some of those common things that you have told me about.

I KNOW that you want to do the very best that you can for your children. As a single mom with kids, you seem to have additional motivation to raise your children the best that you can. And that puts a lot of additional stress on you when trying to be the best that you can be. It can be very over-whelming!

You want to be there for your kids when they are going through their own hard times, and you want to be there for their first accomplishments. That could be their first smiley face on their papers from their school. You want to go to their school activies with them, such as back-to-school nights or other special events such as the sports that they are participating in. You want to be there for your kids!

I also KNOW that you want to be there for your kids when they need you. Perhaps they are having a hard time at school. There may be difficulties with teachers or even difficulties with other students. Even more distressing, they may be dealing with bullies.

And you want to protect them. At the very least, you want to be there to listen to their problems when they need to talk to you. You want to be able to support them the best that you can.

Single Mom With Kids and Financial Concerns

In addition to providing a good family life and providing for their emotional needs, you also want to provide for them some of the material things that will make for a comfortable life. Making sure that they have enough food to eat and an adequate home is a high priority. Most of you want to be able to provide clothing that is in style as you don't want your kids to be made fun of because of the clothes that they wear.

You just feel like you want to be able to provide enough for your children so that they can be happy. Some of you have told me that you feel inadequate because you cannot provide all the things that you want your kids to have.

And yet you are trying to provide by yourself the things and support that many families have TWO people working together provide.

Single Mom With Kids and Employment

Many American families in this economy have trouble making ends meet with TWO incomes! If two-income families are struggling, no wonder you are struggling as well. But you adjust. You just suck it up and do the best you can.

One problem that you encounter is that because you need the time with your kids,  you just can't work enough hours to make a sufficient income. When the kids are small, you may need to find a day care solution. Day care is NOT cheap! Day care costs are another expense in your budget.

Time spent with your children is very important to you, but sometimes you have to sacrafice some of that time by putting your children in daycare in order for you to work to provide an income.

If you have a job, you may have limited flexibility as to when you can work those hours. Some jobs will offer you some flexibility in your working hours but there is only so much that they can offer. And if you take too much time off, it could jepordize your chances for promotions and raises and could even endanger your employment.

Some of you are UNABLE to work fulltime for a variety of reasons. Either you can't find fulltime work or because of the needs of your kids, you can ONLY work part time.

Options for Single Moms With Kids

If you can't work full time, you only have a few options. You could work a second part time job. That could give you a little bit more money, but it will also increase the amount of time that you have to spend away from your family.

Usually part time work doesn't pay as much as full time work. That contributes to another challenge that you are facing as a single mom.

There may be discrimination in the form of gender and age discrimination, causing you to earn less money than you might be qualified for.

And whatever money you might make in a second part time job, it still might not be enough for you to provide for your family in the way that you would like.

In the video portion of this blog post, I tell the story of Collette, who was a single mom with kids. She was trying to raise four children, two of which had medical disabilities. Be sure to watch the video to hear of her story and how she was able to overcome her trials. You can find the story at the 6:30 mark of the video.

So:..... here is the thing:

If you are a single mom with kids, and you are struggling, and trying to raise your kids and trying to bring in an adequate income at the same time, you have a lot of things stacked against you from the very beginning.

So you will have to start looking at some other options.

You can get a part time job. Maybe it will help, maybe it won't. You can get a full time job. Maybe it will help, maybe it won't. When you are working a full time job, you will have certain restrictions that may hinder your ability to provide.

A lot of single moms with kids are finding that working a network marketing business is the only thing that will give them the flexibility they need and also the opportunity to make the amount of money that they need. They are in control of their lives. They decide when they can go to their kid's recital or to their sports events.

Many of them are making good incomes. More income than they could have made by working a traditional job.

Summary of Single Mom With Kids

I don't know all of your struggles as a single mom. But I do know about some of the things that you have told me. You are doing a hard job, and most of you are doing an excellent job with your families regardless of your circumstances.

But sometimes you need just a little more financial help. If an additional part time or even a full time job isn't going to be enough, please at least take a look at network marketing. See if it might be a solution for you.

If you want to talk to me about what might work for you, please contact me and maybe we can work it out together.

How Long Have You Been Doing This? A Very Scary Question!

Have you ever been asked the question, "How long have you been doing this business?" Most network marketers have been asked this question; and if they have not been asked the question, they eventually WILL be asked!

How Long Have You Been Doing This: A Different Perspective

I would like to turn that question around and make it more of a philsophy, or a different way to think about it.

After you have made a presentation to a potential network marketing team member, a lot of times they will ask you,"Well.....how long have you been doing this?" They are trying to figure out in their own mind how successful they might be if they were to join you.

Perhaps they are thinking in their own minds that they are more successful in general than you, and that if you could do it successfully, then maybe they can too. Or perhaps they are thinking the opposite, that they are not as successful as you, therefore, they might not do as well as you.

That is what is going on in the back of their mind when they ask you that question.

How Long Have You Been Doing This?: Why Does the Question Scare Us?

Many network marketers fear the question because they don't know how to answer it. If you are relatively new, you may be thinking that because of your newness, it means that you don't have any success, that you have no experience, or that you have no results yet. It is natural to wonder why you should think that your potential team mate would want to join you.

If you HAVE been in your business for a length of time, and they ask you that question, the first thought that might go through your mind is: "Oh, boy! I have been in this business for a long time, and I have no success! I am going to appear to be a failure!"

So sometimes we fear the question because we don't know how to answer it.

So let's take that question and make a change in philsophy about it.

How To Deal With The Question How Long Have You Been Doing This

It is really NOT about how long you have been in the business, whether that be a couple of weeks or a couple of decades. What it IS about is how many conversations have you had with people in the time that you have been in.

If you have only been in the business for a couple of weeks, but you are talking or having conversations with a lot of people, you are on the right track. Those conversations can be belly-to-belly or face-to-face, or they could be done by social media or other internet options. They are all conversations. The more conversations of any kind that you have, the more success you will find.

On the other hand, if you have been in for a long time but have NOT had many conversations, you will not be as successful as someone that has been in for a short time but has had many conversations.

It is not how long you have been in the business that makes a difference, but how many conversations you have had during the time that you have been in the business. A person in the business for only 2 months but that has had 100 conversations will outperform a long-time person in the business that has only had 50 conversations.

In former times, it was much more difficult to talk to 100 people person to person. In today's world, you use social media, create a video, push it out, and you can be talking to hundreds of people with just the click of your mouse. It is now easier to talk to many people than ever before. And it could even be thousands of people!

If you would like to learn more about connecting with more people online, take a look at this video:

Summary of How Long Have You Been Doing This

So, don't think in terms of how many months or years you have been in your network marketing business. Instead, think in terms of how many people have you had conversations with. And how many MORE people you are going to have conversations with.

Use the internet and start talking to more people! That will take the fear out of the question "How long have you been doing this?"

Avoid Trying to Make the Perfect Video

If your desire to  create the perfect video is keeping you from creating and posting videos online, this blog post is for you!

Today I am talking to those who are thinking about creating videos but are just not getting them online. For a lot of you, there are some reasons why you are not creating videos. One of those reasons is fear, or just being afraid to do it.

Many people think that everything has to be perfect with their video. When they mess up, they want to redo the video over and over again until they get it right.

If you do that, you are making it a lot harder than it needs to be! You just need to start doing them!

Trying to Create The Perfect Video Can Derail Your Business Growth

Is This Your Experience in Creating The Perfect Video?

This morning I was watching a video blog post that a fellow network marketer posted, and it teaches a great lesson.

She was one of those who is a perfectionist in regards to her videos. If something is not quite right, she will do it over and over again until it IS right.

One time her and her husband was getting ready to go somewhere, and they had 5 to 10 minutes before they actually had to leave. She thought that she could use that spare time to create a video before they left.

She started creating the video, but something wasn't quite right. It was not perfect. So she redid the video. This time there was something else that was not perfectly right. So she redid it again. And again.

Each time there was something wrong with the video, so she felt she had to redo the video. The five minute video session turned into an hour endeavor. And the final revision was STILL not perfect!

Forget About Creating the Perfect Video!

You really have to forget about being a perfectionist when you are creating a video. It is best just to begin the recording and just start talking!

If you wait until it is perfect, you are never going to get the video done.

In addition, there is an advantage to not having a perfect video. When people see you stumbling over words or doing goofy things on the video, they realize that they themselves don't have to be experts in order to create a video. They think, "Maybe even I could do that!"

Don't try to make it perfect. It doesn't matter if your hair is not perfectly styled or your lighting isn't good. You can be as goofy as you want on your videos, and people are going to think that you are authentic. You are just being who you are. People tend to trust those who they feel are being themselves.

So forget about having perfect videos. Just do them!

Just Create the Video By Being You!

One of the advantages of using Facebook Live is that you don't have any do-overs. Just push the record button and you're on! Then do whatever it is that you do. There is no rehearsal, it is quick and done.

People see you for who you really are. And it is okay to be nervous. It is okay to not be fluent and smooth in your video presentations.

The people that you are trying to reach are not really looking for smoothness and perfect videos. They are looking for ideas and content that will help them in their network marketing business.

And one of the things that will help your business the most is to get over your fear of doing videos. Just do them! Just do them.

Some people might think that you are pretty goofy and awkward in your videos, but others are going to think "I like this guy, he is just like me." Or "I like him, he is really down to earth and real!" You will gain the faith and trust of those people and they will listen to you when they would just skip over watching some smooth and polished presenter.

Summary For Avoid Trying To Make the Perfect Video

Be yourself. Do the videos. Don't worry about whether the video is perfect or not. Just do them and get them out there in the cyber world. Somebody is going to enjoy them!

Think Like a Business Owner If You Want to Succeed!

If you can think like a business owner, you are more likely to succeed in your network marketing business. However, there are some lessons in the employee/employer world that can help you with your entrepreneurial life.

During my many years of life, I have worked as am employee for an employer, and I have also worked many years as a network marketer. There are a couple types of people that I want to talk about that are common in both evironments. There are those who think like an employee, and there are those who think like a business owner. And there are a lot of people who fall between these two extremes.

Some Employees Think Like a Business Owner, Others Don't

I know people who are working for a minimum wage. Some of them give more than they get. They give their "all" to the job, doing more than what is expected of them, and they are always looking for ways to bring more value to their co-workers and to the job. They are a ball of fire, always looking to help somebody.

On the other extreme, we see people who are earning that same wage, but they are disgruntled about the wage that they are getting or the way that they are treated. So they do the very minimum, just enough that they don't get fired. They do what is required of them but that is about it.

And then you have all the people that fall in between those two extremes. All of us at different times in our lives have problably fallen into both of those two extremes. At times we give a lot of effort to our job and really try to provide value, and at other times we may be tired and give something considerably less than what we are capable of giving.

Generally, those who do give the extra value are more likely to be recognized as good employees, and they are the ones who usually get the raises and the promotions. When you do your job and then you help someone else, the person you help will remember that. Your employer may or may not be able to pay you more money, but your giving will be noticed.

You, As a Network Marketer, Need to Think Like a Business Owner

That same senario also happens in network marketing. Some people will start their network marketing business, give their all and act like good business owners. When they see something that needs to be done, they just do it. Giving value and working hard is just something that they do. You might say that they have taken ownership of their business.

Ownership means that if anything goes wrong, they take the responsibility for that failure. However, when things go right, they can also take the responsibilty for that as well. They have taken ownership. They do the very best that they can do to provide value with their network marketing business.

On the other hand, we sometimes see people come into the network marketing industry who start out working very hard, but then they begin to lessen their efforts. They do just the very minimum that is required or they don't do much at all.

Therefore their business doesn't grow very well at all. They don't attract new people into their business, and they don't gain new customers.

Your Job is to Think Like a Business Owner

As a network marketer, you have to take ownership of your business. You have to realize that if something needs to be done, then you are the one that needs to do it. Find some way to do whatever needs to be done.

How you treat your network marketing business is going to determine if you will be successful or not. If you think like a business owner and take full ownership of your business, you will work through the difficulties that you encounter and increase the size of your business. You will be responsible yourself for making sure that you get the training and support that you need. You won't be completely dependent on an upline to do it for you. There will be no waiting on the few people that you sponsored to begin producing and make you successful. You will take full ownership and do what needs to be done for your business.

Don't wait for things to happen!! MAKE things happen!!

How to Make Friends on Facebook

Learning how to make friends on Facebook can significantly increase the size of your network marketing business.

Your success as a network marketer depends on the number of people that you can talk to. One of the objections we often times get when people don't want to do our business is "I don't know any people. I don't have any body that I can talk to."

It is true that you need to know enough people to talk to, but there are ways that you can get to know enough people to talk to. I am going to show you to make friends on Facebook to grow your business.

How To Make Friends On Facebook

First Step: How to Make Friends on Facebook

If you are using the desktop version of Facebook and are on the news feed view, there will be a menu panel on the left side of your screen. You will see things like Favorites, Pages, Groups, Apps, etc.

Mouse over the "Groups" label and you will see an option to "see more." After clicking or tapping on that option, it will open up the groups page. From there you can search for groups that are related to almost every type of group that you can think of.

Find groups that are related to your interests and request to join those groups. Some of the groups will be open to the public and you can join those right away. Some will be closed and you will need to request to be added to the group.

Second Step: How to Make Friends on Facebook

Once you have been added to the group, look to see who the people are that are participating in that group. If you see a posting from someone that you really like or that you can relate to, you can click on their name and you can see their profile.

Viewing the profile will help you to decide whether that person is someone that you would like to have as your friend. Look for potential friends, not for potential prospects! Your objective is to find new friends and increase your network. You are NOT looking for people to send your link to! That is spamming!

Third Step: How to Make Friends on Facebook

When you find someone that you would like to have as your friend, reply to their comment. Give them a compliment. Then include a short note saying that you have left them a private message.

The reason for doing that is because if you just just click on their profile and request to be their friend, many people will ignore the request. They are careful about who they add as their friend.

And if you just send them a private message without already being connected to them, your post will end up in their "other" inbox, which they probably won't see as most people aren't even aware that such an inbox exists.

So the procedure is to reply to their comment, add a note to the comment that you will be sending them a private message, send them the private message, and then ask to be their friend. If you do that, they will more likely to accept your request.

Fourth Step: How To Make Friends on Facebook

Once you are Facebook friends, you can have conversations with them just as you would with your face-to-face friends. You can get to know them. Don't spam them with your products, opportunity, or links at this point! Just get to know them. Find out what they like, what they dislike, what is important to them.

Have normal conversations with them and perhaps at some point, they will disclose a need or a want that you can address with your product or opportunity. Then it would be appropriate to make your offer, within the bounds of a normal conversation.

But don't make friends with people with the sole intent of prospecting them. Find people that you would like to be friends with even if they have no need or desire for your product.

Summary for How to Make Friends on Facebook

You find people through the Facebook groups, people that you would really like to have as a friend, then reply to one of their postings in the group. Be sure to tell them that you will be sending them a private message, and then request to be their friend.

After that you develop the friendship just as you would with any other friend that you have. Only after you have uncovered a need or a want should you offer links, products, or your opportunity. Don't spam!

That is the way to increase the size of your network. Find new friends in Facebook groups and request to be their friend. When you have a large network of friends, there will be a percentage of them that will be open to your offer.

Please share this blog post with your friends and let us promote network marketing in a fun and ethical way!

3 Tips For Blogging Success

These 3 tips for blogging success may explain why your video blog is not performing the way that you would like.

Perhaps you are just starting to do video blogging or perhaps you are currently doing blogging. Either way, there are some things that will help your blog to succeed. This video will explain three of the possible reasons that most video bloggers fail or the 3 tips for blogging success.

These Three Tips For Blogging Success May Help You

First of The Three Tips For Blogging Success

The first reason you may not be getting results is because of lack of consistency. You have to be consistent when you are doing video blogging. When people are searching the internet, and they find your video blog; if they like it, they are going to look for more content from you.

But if it has been 2 weeks, 3 weeks, a month, or six months since you have created a video, you will lose the momentum that your video has started. Your visitor will eventually forget about your single video, and that video becomes a flash in the pan.

So number one: you HAVE to be consistent! If you decide to create a video every day, or 3 times a week, or even once a week, commit to doing it. Be consistent. Over time you will build up a library of videos containing great content. If someone sees one of your videos and likes it, chances are he will look at your other videos as well.

Second of The Three Tips For Blogging Success

The second reason you may not be getting good results from your video blogging is because you may be talking too much about yourself, your company, or your products.

Other than a few people in your network, most people aren't really interested in you, your company, OR your products.

People are most interested in finding answers to the problems that they have. They are Googling for answers to skin problems or weight management. They usually aren't Googling you or your company. They want answers to their own problems.

Don't spend a lot of time on your videos talking about yourself or your products. Talk about how you can solve their problem. Instead of constantly talking about your weight loss product, for example, give them generic information about how to manage their weight. Give them enough value and you will become the weight loss expert. They will come to you and ask you for advice. Then you can introduce your product.

Third of The Three Tips For Blogging Success

The third reason you may not be getting good results from your video blogging is that you may have neglected to give a clear call to action. After you have given value in your video,  then you need to ask your viewers to do something. You have to guide them to give the reaction that you are looking for.

The call to action might be a request for them to visit your blog. Or the call to action might be for them to like or share your video with others. Many viewers will not do it on their own as they need to be prompted to react the way that you would like for them to.

My call to action for you is to visit my blog at rogercox.net. There you will find all my previous blog posts.

And if you have an interest in learning how to blog effectively, you will find links there that will introduce you to the system that I use for maketing online. This link will take you to the information that I use for learning how to do video blogs and more.

Also you will learn how to market yourself and how to work with all the social media platforms.

In summary, the three possible reasons for your video blog to fail are (1) lack of consistency, (2) not giving value, and (3) failure to give a clear call to action.

Go out and make it happen!

Entrepreneurial Mindset or Employee Mindset. Which Do You Have?

There are some of you that come into network marketing with an entrepreneurial mindset already. You may have already had some business experience or you have that natural inclination to be your own boss.

So you are used to taking charge. You see a need that is there and you just take care of it. Figuring it out on your own is something that just comes naturally to you.

The Entrepreneurial Mindset is Needed For Your Success

https://youtu.be/ZQPvV_PsoIs

There are others that come into network marketing with an "employee" mindset. People with the employee mindset are used to having structure. They like job descriptions, schedules, predicable pay checks, and whatever training that is needed is provided by the employer. Everything that is needed for them to succeed in their job is given to them. They are not used to finding the resources that they need on their own.

The people with the entrepreneurial mindset take it upon themselves to solve any problems they encounter. They figure out the solution and they just fix the problem.

If employee-minded people don't have a strong sponsor or if they don't have an upline at all, they often times are at a loss as to what they should do. Many new network marketers have a sponsor that quit of have one that is weak on his training skills.

If you are one of those whose sponsor or upline isn't really in the picture, you will need to step out on your own. You are going to need to become entrepreneurial minded. If you have a problem, you are going to need to work through it and solve the problem yourself. That is what entrepreneurs do.

Not Entrepreneurial Minded? How Do You Become So?

So if you are in that situation where you don't know what to do and you have no one to train you, there are all kinds of training and resources online. You just need to seek them out and learn on your own. There are numerous podcasts and videos that very successful networkers create.

If there is no training available in your area, create your own training. If there are no meetings in your area that you can go to, start your own meetings and provide your own trainings. Invite others to join you and become a leader! Become a guiding force! Get your name and face out there so that people recogonize you as a leader and as someone who can give valuable leadership and training. Create whatever it is that you don't have.

Find the training that you need, pick it up and learn it on your own. And then....teach it to someone else! You can create your own videos and webinars or podcasts. Once you learn something, turn around and teach it! That is how  you really learn something!

The Entrepreneurial Mindset Bottom Line

The bottom line is that you are either entrepreneurial minded or you are employee minded. As a network marketer, you are going to need to become entrepreneurial minded. Because the time will come when you will need to solve problems or create what is missing on your own.

I hope that you enjoy this training. Please share it with your people and your organizations.

If you already have a business and would like to learn how to market your business online through the internet, touch base with me here.

But if you DON'T already have a business, I invite you to talk with me and I can show you what I am doing. If it is a fit for you, great! If not, you will at least learn how to evaluate other businesses. You want to get a good one!

Want Change? For Things to Change You Have to Change

Do you want change in your life or in your business? This is what Jim Rohn had to say about it:

"In order for things to change, YOU need to change!" - Jim Rohn

But how should we implement his counsel in our lives?

Want Change? A Couple Of Examples.

Recently I was talking with a co-worker of mine. We worked together at the same company for a number of years before I retired from there. We were just catching up on things that were going on in our lives and remembering events that happened during the time we worked together.

He is still working there, and he was telling me about how his days were going. He woke up every day at the same time, and followed the same routine in getting ready for work. He shaved and showered at the same time, ate breakfast at the same time, and even ate the same thing for breakfast. He would then take the same route to work.

At the job site, he did the same things every day, took a morning break at the same time, and ate his lunch at the same time and usually the same place.

When the work day was over, he took the same route home where he ate dinner and then settled in for the night, watching the same shows on the television. At the usual bedtime, he went to bed.

This routine was the same day after day. His life was a humdrum existence.

Want Change? Here Is What You Need to Do

If you want change or if you want things to change, you have to change. I tried to gently teach him that principle, but I am afraid that he was too conditioned to even attempt it. I tried to teach him that nothing is going to change unless he changes something. There has to be some sort of catalyst to initiate the change.

When I used to work full time, I remember many conversations at work. Actually, most of the conversations were complaints! We complained about the job, the work that we were doing, the hours that we worked, the pay that we were getting, and we also complained about the boss. We complained about a lot of things!

The truth is that there are things that we can do to change things. But too often, we get set in our ways, and we don't do anything to change. Unless we do something to change, nothing is going to change. In order for things to change, you have to change. Want change? Make a change!

Want Change in Your Network Marketing Business?

This principle applies to our network marketing businesses as well. As we get started in our network marketing business, a couple of things can happen. Often times we lack particular skills that we need in order to make our business a success. But we don't take the time to learn those skills or to implement them once they are learned. Or we continue to do the same things even when those things are not working very well for us.

At some point we need to step back and think about what more do we need to know, or need to do, in order to grow our network marketing business. What more do we need to do to move from the level that we currently on to the next level?

So we need to make some decisions. We need to look to see where we are lacking and make some changes. That might mean that we need more education or to learn some more skills.

In network marketing, you have to have some skills and you have to keep improving those skills. You can't just sit back and wait for people to contact you, but you need to learn the skills that will attract people to you and will lead them to join you in your business or purchase your product.

If you want change, you need to make the changes. Things won't change on their own.

So we learn a little bit, then we implement. We learn a little bit more, and we implement that. That is the way to build a successful network marketing business.

We can't wait for things to fall into our lap or wait for circumstances to change. Life just doesn't work that way. If you want change, you have to change.
We may need to change what we are doing, or we may even need to change who we basically are.

Want Change? Here Is An Easy First Step

If you already have your own network marketing business, but you would like to ramp up your skills a bit and get some training about doing online marketing, contact me through my Health and Freedom With Roger Cox Facebook page or through my email address at rogercox@rogercox.net. We can talk together about increasing your skills and learning how to have people come to you instead of you chasing them down.

If you DON'T already have a network marketing business but you would like to find one, again contact me either on my Facebook page or through my email address, and I can introduce you to the company that I work with. If it is a good fit for you, then we can work together.

If is not a good fit, you will at least gain the knowledge that will allow you to choose a good company.

I finish with the words of Jim Rohn: "In order for things to change, You need to change!"

Self Doubt and Fear: How to Make It Go Away

Self doubt and fear is a curse that 80 to 90% of network marketers, especially new network marketers, will face.

Self doubt and fear blocks a lot of new network marketers and even stops a lot of more experienced marketers. As they start doubting theirselves, they begin to doubt whether they have what it takes to be successful in network marketing.

And so they stop doing what it takes to be successful.

Self Doubt and Fear Starts Here

The one big secret is this: Self doubt and fear begins to go away when you start to do....something! It doesn't really matter what it is that you start to do, but self doubt starts to go away when you start to do something.

By the way, if you need some help in finding something  that you can do, here is great training for getting started:

You may remember when you first started your network marketing career, someone presented the opportunity to you, and he painted this picture of what could be. He created this grand vision of the great things that you were going to be able to do, the money that you were going to make, and the lives that you were going to impact for good.

That vision was really exciting to you, and you bought into that vision. You got really excited and you bought your kit.

But sometimes.....you have bought into the vision and your feelings, and emotions are running high. But deep down inside you are thinking "I will never be able to do that. This is beyond my capability."

However, you buy the kit anyway, and you start your business hoping that maybe something inside of you will change. But if that something DOESN'T change, that self doubt and fear is going to make you put that kit in the closet where you won't even touch it. Or you might try to do a little bit of work to test it out, but when you get your first bunch of rejections, you quit.

Self doubt and fear is very destructive, and it happens to almost all network marketers at some point in their network marketing career. So don't feel bad about it. Like I said, 80 to 90% of network marketers are going to struggle with self doubt.

How to Stop Self Doubt and Fear

Self doubt goes away when you start to do something. Remember when you started your business? You made your daily plan, your weekly plan, your monthly plan, your thirty day plan, your ninty day plan, and your long term plan. For each of those plans, you wrote down specific tasks that you were going to do to accomplish those goals.

Perhaps you were going to talk to two people per day or send out three emails per day. Whatever your plan was, hopefully you made a commitment to follow that plan.

So when self doubt begins to rear its ugly head, that is when you need to honor your commitments. If you committed to talk to two people a day, you need to honor that comittment. You need to decide that you are going to do "something." It doesn't really matter what that something is. It might be something really small.

Decide you are going to do something and then just do it. If you don't know how you are going to do it, just start somewhere. Start anywhere. It could be something small, like smiling at two people a day. Perhaps connecting with three people a day on Facebook could be a start.

The way to conquer your self doubt and fear is to stop doubting yourself. Stop doubting your own committment that you have made. If you have made a commitment, stop doubting that commitment and just do it. If you can't do the whole thing, do something. Do the first part of it. Do some small steps.

Because, in the long run, it doesn't really matter if you break that certain pin level or if you lose 15 pounds. What DOES matter is that you have started to do something to move you along to your goal. You have done the first step. And after you have done that first step, you can do the second step, and the third, and you can just continue progressing.

As you do one step, your self doubt fear will begin to fade away. Self doubt begins to go away when you begin to do something.

Get started and the magic happens!

The Ability to See Into the Future

Do you want the ability to see into the future?

As network marketers, we have an extraordinary ability. Or at least we should be working on that ability. That ability is the ability to see into the future.

How can we see into the future? That just sounds really strange! But it really is true!

How We Can Have The Ability to See Into the Future

Click here to see the video!

When you were first introduced to your business, someone talked to you and gave you a vision of what COULD be. That could be increasing your lifestyle, or having all the time and money that you are willing to work for. Someone painted a fantastic vision for you.

At the time, you bought into that vision. You saw that vision and you actually saw the future. When you started, you didn't have any of that. You didn't have an organization of hundreds or thousands of team members. You had only yourself and maybe a few others in your organization.

By the way, I finally got the answers to some of my BIGGEST QUESTIONS about recruiting by watching this amazing FREE recorded video with a 20-year veteran in the home business industry.

CLICK HERE NOW TO WATCH IT!!

Maybe you had the ability to see into the future enough that you could see that maybe you might have five or ten people in your business. But you WERE seeing into the future.

When you get to that point in your business, then maybe you could see a little bit further into the future. Maybe you could see 100 or 150 team members in your business. You have the ability to see future events.

You are turning into something that you never ever thought that you would be. But when you started on that first day of your business, you were probably thinking in the back of your mind "What if? What if I really could do this? What if this really could be my future?"

So, as network marketers, we have the ability to see into the future. We see what is not yet there. That is what seeing into the future is. We see what is not quite there yet.

We want to build a business to a level that we desire but it is not quite there yet. But we can see it! We can see it in our mind's eye.

Then we turn around and we share that vision with other people. We try to get them to see THEIR future. We try to get them to see what is not quite there yet for them. But it could be if they just take that first step.

See the future. See what is not quite there yet, and begin working toward it. And you will become a fortune teller.

And then help others to also see what is not there yet. Help them to see the future.

Do You Know What the Term JOB Stands For?

Are you using the phrase "JOB stands for 'just over broke'" in your conversations with other networkers or with your prospects? The next question is "are you striving to become a professional network marketer?"

If you ARE trying to be a professional network marketer, then pull your chair in close and listen up!

The Phrase JOB Stands for Just Over Broke Needs to Disappear!

JOB is a derogatory term that has been around in network marketing for a long time. JOB is an acronym for Just Over Broke. It is meant to describe those who are employed by an employer, and the insinuation is that someone who has a job will never make any money. It is used to ridicule those who aren't involved with network marketing.

If someone doesn't see the vision of network marketing as we see it, we too often use the term JOB to put them down. Perhaps it is to make us feel better about ourselves and the vocation we have chosen.

If you are using that term JOB stands for Just Over Broke in your conversations with other network marketers or in your presentations to prospective team members, STOP IT!

It doesn't serve us or the profession of network marketing to use the term JOB. The goal in network marketing is to build relationships. We want to build relationships, not ditches.

The opposite of building bridges or relationships is building ditches or walls. We don't want to do anything that destroys those relationships.

We want to present ourselves as being professional. We don't present ourselves as being professional when we mock people or make fun of them when they don't agree with our opinion.

The reality is that we need people in our world to have jobs. We need people who are employed to work in our stores, to provide our yard services, to fix our cars, and to provide numerous services for us.

It is true that I try to help people see that there are other options for them in addition to the tradional job. Sometimes people see regular employment as their only option, and I want them to see that there are alternatives to being employed by an employer.

But the ONE thing that we don't want to do is to give them the idea that if they don't persue network marketing, then they are losers. We also need to get rid of that term "losers" in network marketing. There are no "losers."

People who have jobs are providing for their families. They are providing needed services that benefit us all. They are providing services to us, and we should not be putting them down because they don't have the vision of network marketing.

Network marketing is an option for people, but it is not THE ONLY option available. Network marketers do not need to feel superior to others just because they have found that network marketing is the best option for them.

So, if you are using the phrase JOB Stands For Just Over Broke, please don't do it any more! Let's raise the profession of network marketing to a professional level. We want to be PROFESSIONAL network marketers. We want to be relationship builders, not relationship destroyers.

We do that by respecting the decisions and careers of the people around us and not by criticizing the decisions and opinions of others.

How to Conquer Obstacles and Challenges in Your Network Marketing Business

Obstacles and challenges will always be present in your network marketing business. As a network marketer, I am going to bet that there is something about your business that if you were to do more of it, or even do it at all, it would raise your business to the next level. But for whatever reason you don't do it, or you don't do enough of it, or you don't like to do it. So you don't do it.

Even old time network marketers probably have things in their businesses that they could improve upon, but they don't because there are obstacles and challenges that make them feel unconfortable.

How Conquering Obstacles and Challenges Changed Jeremy's Business

I would like to tell you a story about a very successful network marketer by the name of Jeremy Stansfield and how he was able to conquer one of his obstacles and challenges. In a interview, he related how an experience helped him to overcome a challenge that kept him from being as successful as he would like to have been.

Jeremy is a former carpet installer who was injured while he was installing carpet. He knew that his ability to bring in an income depended on him being physicaly able to work.

Eventually Jeremy was introduced to a network marketing company, and he decided to work with that company to build a business that would enable him to have an income even though he was injured.

Jeremy is a very personable guy and was able to build a team of a number of associates. Much of his recruiting was done face-to-face or belly-to-belly, as they say. He was very good at talking with people and being able to relate with them.

One of his particular obstacles and challenges was talking to large groups of people, a common problem for a lot of us. Public speaking was not one of his better tools at the time. But because of his success, he was invited to be one of the speakers at a large event, and he accepted the offer.

There were a large number of his team members at the event, and there were a large number of other associates from other downlines also in attendance.

So here is what happened:

He came out on stage. The spotlights were focused on him. He saw the huge crowd gathered in front of him.

He opened his mouth to speak. Nothing came out of his mouth. He froze. The crowd waited in anticipation.

He turned around and walked off stage.

As he was walking backstage, he had a decision to make. A huge crowd of people had just seen him fail. His own team members had just seen him fail in front of a large crowd.

What was he going to say to them when he walked back into the audience and rejoined his team?

At that moment, he had a life-changing decision to make. It would have been a great time to quit. He had to decide if this experience was his quitting point.......or if he was going to make this a turning point.

He told the event organizers to give him another chance. He convinced them to book him as a speaker at the next event.

Today Jeremy Stansfield is an icon in his network marketing company. He consistently stays at the top of the rankings for income earners. AND he speaks often at large live events and conventions!

Jeremy took a weakness and turned it into a strength. His new strength increased his business multiple times.

There are going to be some things in YOUR business that currently you are not very good at, whether that be speaking to people, making presentations, creating videos of yourself, prospecting, or asking for the close. There will be some things that you are just not very good at, and that you just don't want to do.

You will have your own unique obstacles and challenges. The way around those obstacles is to confront them head on. Just begin doing the things that make you uncomfortable. Overcoming the obstacles and challenges will make you a better network marketer.

Of course, you will be bad at the beginning, but the more that you do those unconfortable actions, the better you will get at doing them. The time will come when other people will think that you have always been a natural speaker, video-maker, presenter, or whatever you struggle with doing right now.

Just man up and do it! Just start taking action, no matter how bad you think you are. Give it some time, and you will be surprised at what you will be able to accomplish!
